Summer Learning Experience

Over the summer break, i was stuck in Northern Ireland, unable to visit home, so i decided to learn 3D modelling more in-depth. Worked on 3D models for my personal game project, mainly buildings and cars, old timey.
The project idea:
1930s Latvia, my home town. 3D interactive open-world exploration experience where you can explore the world, walk around, climb onto some rooves, explore little narrow back streets, hop into a car, ride around the region.
Sort of thing of Red Dead Redemption 2 combined with Grand Theft Auto 5, but without any of the objectives and movie-esque quests and missions.

I put a big focus on cars, as driving cars would be an integral part of the game, to traverse the larger country side part of the game.
I started by making a high poly model of a Volvo PV4 (First ever Volvo)
I continued to make vehicles, looking at reference photos, and whenever I could get my hands on them - blueprints, to guide me, to get the shapes and proportions right.
I continued by re-making my first ever 3D model I made for my 3D literacy class - a Ford Model T, this time in Blender instead of Maya.
Buildings, creating my home town, using reference photos, as a lot of my home town was destroyed in WW2 by soviet and german forces. Since I don't have billions to rebuild my town in real life, the next best thing is to rebuild it in 3D.
Progress is slow, and I am still learning, but I am getting there.
I kept making cars, as I want a nice variety, have a nice realistic traffic system in my game once I get around to doing that.
Building the town will be a several year effort, being put on hold during the academic years, as I focus on university work.
I feel like I have improved my skills, an I feel like I can work much faster and much more comfortably in 3D now. Thanks to the covid-19 lockdown, I have been able to spend many a hour on this, and improve myself in my own free time.
